How Is Ammunition Made? A Tour of Sellier & Bellot's Factory

Today I am in Vlašim in the Czech Republic, where Sellier & Bellot has allowed me to film a tour of their ammunition plant. This is one of the largest ammo manufacturers in the world, and they start with basic raw material like lead, copper, and brass and ship out complete case ammunition. The machines involved in this process are really interesting - let's have a look!

  1. For years I bought S&B ammo for the range, because it was cheap..it was also pretty dirty and, thankfully we had a good ventilation system at the range, because it also smelled quite bad and was pretty smoky...but it was cheap...now that I'm getting older, I still clean my guns within a day of shooting them, so I'm spending slightly more for a higher grade of ammo, like CCI for .22.

Thanks for bringing this video and the one about the Round Mountain Mine to us. Simply incredible.

  4. I have used hundreds of bricks of Sellier & Bellot primers. I have not been that impressed with their cases for reloads. I will use them twice and then leave them behind at the range.
