A South Carolina woman's distressing 911 call has sparked outrage after a dispatcher dismissed her pleas for help as a suspicious man prowled her property.
Lindsey Stech received a motion alert from her doorbell camera on Dec. 18, revealing a man lurking in her yard with a flashlight.
She should have told the 911 operator that she was going to shoot him. That would have brought a response.
ReplyDelete"He looks like a Mexican drag queen - ima gonna shoot him" would have brought everyone.
DeleteThat's worked for me on more than one occasion. "We'll have a deputy there in 1 to 2 hours". Well, just send the coroner then. gets the time down to an acceptable limit.

An anecdote I read on another website -
DeleteA man called 911 to report several people trying to get into his shed. The operator said no one was available. He called back a few minutes later and said he had shot them. Shortly, there were four police cars at his house, but there were no bodies.
Police Officer: "I thought you said you shot them."
Home Owner: "I thought you said no one was available."
Anything short of firing that operator is not enough of a punishment for shitty job performance

Exactly. But they won't because she's black.
DeleteThere was once a very drunk and bleeding man banging on the back door of my apartment.
ReplyDeleteBeing an ordinary person, thinking this is what I'm supposed to do, I called 911. They questioned me whether I'd been drinking, do I have a gun, etc., and nothing to do with the drunk bleeding man banging on the door. By the end of the call I was ready to piss on their graves.
The only time I'll call law enforcement again is to come pick up a body. Fuck em' all.
My rule of thumb is if I have to dial 911 I'm only going to say what I need and where then I'm hanging up... All that back and forth is for law enforcement to catch you saying something incriminating

With help like that you really need a shotgun.
ReplyDeleteJust tell the operator on the second call that there's no rush, the body isn't going anywhere. It's a true statement: you didn't say 'dead' body, and as far as you know he's not leaving. Remember: every word you say to 911 is recorded. Don't make false statements. Don't make threats. Don't incriminate yourself.
