Commentary: Trump Is Right to Disband FEMA and Return Disaster Funding to the States
During visits to disaster-affected areas in North Carolina and California, President Trump criticized the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s performance and suggested dismantling the agency. “FEMA has turned out to be a disaster,” Trump said while touring a North Carolina neighborhood destroyed by September’s Hurricane Helene. “I think we recommend that FEMA go away.”

Reduce it back to Civil Defense and put it back under the DOD. It was OK back then.
ReplyDeleteSo many agencies have been taken over by the democrats and the agencies are detrimental to the US. I really think the goal of the democrats is to destroy this country. i think the end game is to let china rule the world through a global government.
ReplyDeleteThose former FEMA employees will need to work someplace. Wash, rinse, repeat. The fraud waste abuse is baked into most federal agencies. Oh and the State governments, meh not much better. Look government any government is bad anyway you look at it, just look at the microcosm oh HOAs, I mean geezzz give that (one person that was always picked last for kick ball team) some power as an adult and it goes to their pea size brain.
ReplyDeleteGet rid of FEMA.
Best as I remember before Katrina the federal government didn't stick it's nose in recovery processes... Disaster relief was allocated for recovery then the state and local governments handled it.. Dumbass W Bush and his FEMA cronies came down to take over and showboat the operation after Hurricane Katrina passed close to Nola.. To be clear New Orleans flooded due to it's own neglect.. The New Orleans Leeve Board was responsible for that... He even sent the poster child for L. Johnson's hiring quota program a retard by the name of Lt.General Russel Honore', Mr stuck on stupid himself ... Ever since they are up your ass if anything happens in your area..

Mississippi took the bull by the horns after Katrina and handled things quite well while NOLA was arguing for Greyhound buses instead of school buses to transport evacuees. A friend's son house got flooded there - no state or local response. So, called a contractor in Jackson (HS friend), who sent a crew over from Gulfport.
DeleteIn addition to being compensated, he was given two clubhouse weekend passes to what is now the Wells Fargo PGA Classic at Quail Hollow Club.
"The New Orleans Leeve Board was responsible for that..."
DeleteThat, the Army Corps of Engineers and the lunacy of allowing a city to continue it's existence below the average depth of the river that it borders, while sinking into the sediment it's built on at the sink rate of ~1/3 inch per year.
It should have remained flushed into the Gulf of America the first time it flooded, never mind the most recent catastrophe.

DeleteHurricane Katrina first made landfall in central Plaquemines Parish, specifically the Port Sulphur, Empire area, then it moved northeastern into Pass Christian, Ms..
We didn't get any help, everyone was focused on Nola. We had a our first and so far only female demonkrap governor at the time and of course Ray Chocolate City Ragin so the city was more important to worry about the rest of us.. We did like we always do and got it done without help from the feds.

Well Nemo saying that a government should not be allowing a city to continue it's existence is taking shit too far.. How does any agencies have any authority for that ?
DeleteAlso considering the flooding in the mountains in eastern TN and western NC last year, the flooding in the Mississippi River Valley of Ohio every couple of years, Houston, TX and the Tx coast after Hurricane Harvey a few years ago, the hurricanes that hit Florida every year the tornadoes in the midwest that happens a few times every year where do you think everyone in a place that has weather issues need to move to ?
JD
First I think that FEMA and almost every federal agency was transformed by the Biden administration into a gravy train/money laundering operation for left wing/anti-American purposes. Second, I don't think the lack of action for NC and the other areas affected by the recent hurricane was simply typical bureaucratic inefficiency. I think it was something much worse, and intentional slight against the mostly white and Christian population of that area who simply aren't the Democrats concern. The Democrats are focused on the "replacement" voters that they are bringing into the country and screw all you white, independent thinkers and gun owners. Make no mistake, the Democrats will regain power one way or another and when they do they will double down on their anti-white, anti-Christian and destruction of our constitutional republic. The shit storm will be back! Use the next four years to prepare for it. Pay off debts and don't acquire more debt, plant gardens, buy silver and gold. Teach your children how to live and work in hard times. Too many preparations to list so prepare for the worst. The Democrats/communist won't play nice next time they steal power.
ReplyDeleteFEMA has been an out of control .gov gravy train since its inception. The only reason for its existence is another money laundering siphon for dollars that we borrow at an exorbitant rate.
DeleteWhat job do you know of where the employees get to sit around doing nothing; while collecting a fat paycheck and accruing golden pension benefits, waiting to respond badly to some future disaster.
When you look up the definition of pure grift in the dictionary, you see the letters FEMA.
To understand what a bunch of doofouses they are, all you have to do is watch the clip of the Director asking his sectary how his hair looked before going to a Katrina press conference.
FIRE ... THEM ... ALL.

Well hopefully with JD Vance as VP when 47s term is over he will be elected for back to back terms. It’s so early into this seismic shift we need to see where this all plays out in a year or so. I think the Dems/commies are in a disarray with the 47 Wrecking Ball currently . And you are spot on with your second point, it was intentional what FEMA did not do. Absolutely disgusting.
Delete"Next time they steal power" - Yup. I'm really hoping that Mr. Trump secures the election process well enough that there isn't a next time for the democrats. Time for them to go the way of the Whiggs. Make it be Libertarians vs. Republicans for the next hundred years.
DeleteAnd I really think that's the way it's go, unless the "secure the elections" thing doesn't get pushed hard enough. There's no way the democrats will have enough actual voters to get back in power. Not with an attitude that put David Hogg in as DNC chair.
John G.
FEMA was Slick Willie's shining star. Well funded, properly run, and lean. Then GW, Obungle, then Biden could not stand the thought of all that money laying fallow. Send it back to the states.
ReplyDeleteWhen the hurricane blew through Georgia it was GEMA that was seen. There were no federal people helping. FEMA is not necessary.
ReplyDeleteNot saying FEMA doesn't have a crap-ton of issues but doesn't a coordinated response possibly/theoretically (if it's across multiple states/jurisdictions) help? Or maybe it's now been shown to not help. (have you seen the price of gold? wow)
