  1. yup. had a boss that did that with a lease car once. he was like 2-3times over the miles with it and the mileage would have killed him. so. he had a "new key made' and left it unlocked
outside a bad part of Philly. between insurance and what have you he made out or got away with it. still it was a neat car the 300sx or whatever it was called.
I didn't really trust him afterwards though.

  2. Probably doesn't pay to advertise in this case since the potential purloiners would figure it was a sting operation.

    1. Amen!
You heard the old saw "The front end fell off!", well the front end fell off. A real rust bucket. Two transmissions also.

  4. If he has the title then he can try to donate the truck to the local volunteer fire department. When i was in the dept, locals would give us such vehicles for training on vehicle rescue, scene safety, extrication tools, vehicle design and construction, medical concerns at crash scenes, traffic management and such. We usually went thru 5 or more cars a year if we were lucky enough to get them

  5. The owner is assuming that the Thieves can read English... or even read at all. Good luck with that.

  6. I've driven plenty of beaters but the boxy looking Ford Granada in hideous flesh tone beige had to have been the worse. What? Of course it was a four door.

  7. My old truck has a on/off switch & a push to start button. If I really need to secure it there's a hidden marine type battery switch under the hood.

    1. My old 1964 Chevy truck could be started with a screwdriver when I first got it. There was also a cut-off switch behind the grill. After I replaced the ignition switch, I kept the cut-off.
