They’re Turning the Friggin’ Kennedy Center Straight
Theatre is gay.
Don’t get me wrong—I love theatre. I’ve acted in college and community productions, worked backstage, directed high school plays, and attended a few dozen shows at various D.C. venues.
I've been to a couple of plays, they were comedies that were local and not politically based nor correct and had a great time both times.. These were at small local theaters. As to the Kennedy Center, having seen some of the line up there it seems like a lot of crap nobody will go see except to be seen and appear cultured... JD
From the dawn of time, gays have always been with us. Coming from somebody who has gays in his family, I think it's stupid to oppress them, but by the same token, I don't think it's necessary to 'celebrate' them at the taxpayer's expense.
Yeah they have always been around, but nowadays they are so 'in-your-face' it irritates me. And their wanting to indoctrinate children in schools and libraries pisses me off...
When my son was in High School orchestra the Orchestra kids called themselves "Orc Dorks". The Band kids were "Band Nerds" and the Choir kids were "Choir Queers". I told them they should call the Theater kids "Drama Queens" and no one but me thought that was funny. They were all a bunch of great talented kids but there were certainly some gay ones in the mix.
I don't care if someone is gay. I do care if all they do is rub your nose in it and tell everyone they are homophobic if they don't embrace having their nose rubbed in it. Most openly gay actors are also openly activists.
When my older son was in college he took some drama classes and did a few plays and musicals. He is heterosexual and 6' 4" tall. He told me later the "pussy flowed like wine" since he was one of TWO other straight guys in the drama classes.

ReplyDeleteAgreed 100%
DeleteIn an ironic twist, Trump appointed his trusted lieutenant Ric Grenell as interim Executive Director, who coincidentally happens to be gay. MartyB
