#1. Hilarity ensues. Count the mistakes. I like how 5 steps in front of 4.
At the barber, I met a training Capt responsible for several PDs and Sheriffs at the shooting range. He said it was typical that even whole depts had to run through quals several times before meeting minimums. Minimums.
too true. and you should see how cops freak out when you out shoot them at the range! and the target they shoot at is only 7 yards away (??) that stuff you see in the movies of them drilling the target at 25 yards and more is a joke. hell, even tried to give a few guys some pointers on how to shoot better and they freaked out and left the range. and as I have told others, the safest spot when cops are shooting is either behind them or out of state ! dave in pa.
Anon @ 12:57 Been there done that. I've been to many classes at Front Sight when it was still open, so I have a good grasp on pistol shooting. I was at a range run by off duty cops and they let me 'present' from the holster after showing them I knew my stuff. Two shots center mass in 1.5 sec. or less. One day an officer was in to practice for his annual quals and was doing the typical square range thing. He kept looking down towards my lane and target groupings and left after only a few mags worth. He was all over the target @ 7 yards.
We had the local Corrections Officers (prison guards) at our range on Wednesday.
Their performance was laughable, but, at the same time, scary as hell. I am amazed that none of them got shot, given how many times I saw someone get muzzled with an M4.
We were holding our mid-week IPSC (think USPSA) match - five stages, 125 rounds - and we had watchers whenever they took a break.
I overheard a couple of conversations they had among themselves, basically saying that they had never even imagined anybody being able to shoot and reload a handgun that fast and accurately while also moving around walls and obstacles.
My ex father in law had an attachment to do that for his old Kabota tractor.. It hooked up to the PTO and worked great... I've never seen one set up like that one though JD

#1 is the reason I carried the M203.
ReplyDeleteThe only times in 4 years I didn't carry one were OSUT, 6 months as armorer where I got an M-240B, and the rotation in Bosnia.
DeleteGot to fire 3 chalk rounds once, so that made carrying that fucker plus all the Sapper gear worth it.

#1 Please tell me those are not American boys. Or is this some of the DEI hires?
ReplyDelete#3 sooner or later, some idiot will think about sticking his dick in that.
ReplyDelete#3 First tell us how to build one. Is that an old automobile part re-engineered to shuck corn?

we had a hand cranked one when I was a kid for grain for the livestock. Hadda make a 50 lb bag of loose corn twice a week. Lots of work
DeleteEvery farmer used to have one of those.
DeleteNow the combine does that work and you don't see many of these anymore.
Reminds me of the old pickle factory joke.
DeleteWhat did they do with the pickle slicer? Oh, she was fired, too.
DeleteCan't think why, but Nancy Pelosi comes to mind.
