California Gun Owners Beware: ‘Duty to Retreat’ Required in New Bill

The California gun prohibition lobby is hailing a new Assembly bill that includes a duty to retreat “When the person was outside of their residence and knew that using force likely to cause death or great bodily injury could have been avoided with complete safety by retreating,” but the measure is drawing a barrage of criticism from Republicans.

  3. This state continues to go too far and I keep wondering what it's going to take to finally send people over the edge. I thought it might be electric rates, then free health care for illegals, then the Palisades fire, newscums stealing covid funds, then more rate hikes. But no, it's more la,la,la,la. Everything is fine.

    1. You silly boy. Don't you know current and retired California law enforcement officers have been exempted from every gun law passed in the state since the beginning of time?

  5. Here's a quote from the knucklehead who introduced this bill-

"The goal is to prevent wannabe vigilantes like Kyle Rittenhouse from provoking violence & claiming self-defense after the fact. We will amend the bill to make this crystal clear.”

He obviously knows nothing of the facts in the Kyle Rittenhouse case. Or he's an idiot. Or he's a liar. Or he's just a typical craven California Democrat ideologue.

  6. "... and knew that using force likely to cause death or great bodily injury could have been avoided with complete safety by retreating". So now you're required to have ESP and know that something can be avoided? There are some mighty thin sets of circumstances that would satisfy that.
