Free pass

Some Illinois state legislators are trying to make it legal for people who might appear to be having a mental health episode to attack police officers. But it would still be illegal to attack firemen like the one the bill’s chief sponsor is married to.

  1. So this would create a gapi g loophole for anyone to attack a police officer and then claim mental impairment. Guess this must have escaped the bill's author.

  2. In other words: "Democrats will always be allowed to attack police officers".

  3. Well, then let's give the cops a free pass if they just happen to shoot and kill the asshole attacking them. It would save a lot of time, and tax dollars.

  5. So "I thought he was a cop, not a firefighter/nurse/EMT/schoolteacher/dogcatcher" is the new Get Out of Jail Free card? Gonna just put one in my wallet for emergencies.

  6. Yeah, and the cops aren't going to instantly light up the next fuckwit who attacks them.
"Oh, my son dindu nuffin, he got a problem wiv his haid"
" Gee, if he'd only said, we wouldn't have shot him 47 times"

  7. If the cop walks away from the supposed nut case and the wacko kills someone the cop will fry. Especially, if the cop is white and the supposed kook is black riots will ensue. It's a perfect Chauvin vs. Floyd scenario.

  8. Second City Cop has some interesting comments on this thing. That city, along with several others which need not be named, should be walled and cut off from the rest of decent society.

  9. The catch should be the mental piece of work MUST be diagnosed no more than 24 hours before the incident, have the documentation on them, and display it clearly to police before commencing the attack.
