It's called texture, dummy
SMYRNA, Tenn. (WZTV) — Picture this: You’re enjoying a sunny day and decide to treat yourself to a delicious ice cream sundae. You take a spoonful, savoring the sweetness, but then something feels off. You bite down hard and...wait, what’s that? A sharp crunch that doesn't belong. You might think it’s a nut, maybe a pecan, but then the horrifying truth sets in. It’s glass.

Fucks sake. That Dr has probably fucked up many lives he won't accept blame for. And who the fuck takes a hard bite of ice cream. You put the spoon on your tongue, purse your lips and pull the spoon out then press your tongue with the dairy dessert against your palate. No fucking teeth involved. You go sue them Nancy and teach that kid a lesson
ReplyDeleteHe didn't take a hard bite of ice cream. He put a spoonful of ice cream with pecans in it, in his mouth, and tried to chew the pecans instead of swallowing them whole as I guess you think is the correct method?
DeleteHe probably thought they'd given him sugar encrusted pecans by mistake, or the glass was actually ice that had somehow been put in his sundae.
When you *know* it's "just ice cream" and there's something harder than you expect -maybe a bit of pecan shell?- you don't carefully spit out the mouthful of ice cream, you bite whatever it is, expecting to crush it just like a pecan, or to be unable to crush it if it's pecan shell or something.
Your autonomic nervous system takes control of bite force regulation, not your forebrain. It's like breathing, you have to know or sense there's a danger, and override your autonomic nervous systems breathing program, so to speak, or you'll breathe in whatever it is, from nitrogen, to mustard gas, etc. That's why people drown when they pass out in the tub. The body just keeps trying to breathe, and if inhaling a bit of water doesn't wake you up, you're screwed.
In the same way, your bite force regulation is entirely automatic in 90+% of cases. And if there's solids in the food, and your brain knows there should be (in this case, pecans), your brain simply chews. Ever bit your cheek or tongue? Yeah. Was it a conscious decision? Same concept.
I'm not sure he's telling the truth, but it's not impossible to believe, and shit like that (automatic bite force regulation causing bifurcated teeth and other damages) happens all the freaking time.
Well that's not a good way to cool off..
ReplyDeleteNot saying he's to blame about what happened but I don't bite down hard on something when I'm expecting a smooth creamy substance..I would spit it out or at least use a napkin to remove it and get a look at it..
The ice cream shop didn't handle this well either..

As a result of this horrifying incident he can't sleep, suffered loss of congress with his wife, has PTSD, and physical and emotional trauma.
ReplyDeleteYou forgot the new glasshole he has to live with.
DeleteLooks like that Juicy Smalett guy, was there a noose around the cup?
