I have the DVD of this show. There are a couple of the songs that I would say are the "best version" of those songs. Did a great job on The River and Blue and Evil.
In 2019 (we were 65 then) he was playing at The Gaillard Center in Charleston. Tons of 20-somethings were lined up outside. We had no idea whom he was. We do now.
Saw him play at the Troubador last December at Billy Gibbons Birthday bash, he was great as always. Now, Beth Hart, she seemed high as a kite at that gig.
In my opinion some of the best music either of them put out was when they played together... I would have loved to be on one of those Blues Cruises they did together. JD

Worked on his stage crew at the Redwood Run a couple of times. Bit of an odd guy, but an outstanding guitar player.
ReplyDeleteWorked security at one of his shows 10+ years ago. Never heard of him before, but the show was great.

Had a show here, $125 for the cheapest seats. I'll watch him on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteThe first concert I ever went to, the ticket was $4.50 back in 1975.
