The Red Clay Strays

Okay, I had never heard of this group until last weekend when Lisa told me about them, and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised seeing as our musical tastes aren't exactly the same - I'm more of a Classic Rock and/or Country guy and she's more American Idol.

Anyway, give them a try, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I have this past week.

Wondering Why  (3:54 minutes)  This is the song she turned me on to. I'm sitting there looking at her tablet and diggin' the drummer's casual attire when the music finally started to register. Not bad, not bad at all.

Don't Care  (3:58 minutes)

Will The Lord Remember Me  (3:33 minutes)

And yes, they can flat out rock as you can see in this song.
No One Else Like Me  (6:31 minutes)

  1. Well damn they are very tight musically and the singer delivers.... The drummer is a little overdressed but drummers are a different breed..
    Excellent choice for tonight

  2. Check out their song "Good Godly Woman". I found out about them when worked a job in San Diego a few years ago with guy whose farm was where they filmed the video for the song.

  5. Just listened to them. Wow... The video for 'Good Godly Woman' did it for me! I showed it to my yankee wife and told her "Thats the difference between a yankee woman and a southern girl" Thats when the fight broke out! It was worth it for the peace & quiet.

  6. I was also introduced to them just in the last month. Yeah, that singer make it all work. If you look online, you'll find a rendition he did of Merle Haggard's Are The Good Times Really Over For Good that I thought was excellent.

  7. And here I was thinking musicality was dead. Damn that's good. You and a couple of other bloggers continue to surprise me with solo's and groups I hadn't heard about. Pre-ordered the vinyl. Can't wait to hear it. Thanks, wirecutter!
