RECOIL's Tom Marshall interviews covert operations legend Billy Waugh, who's career in special ops spans more than 50 years. Billy was a paratrooper in Korea, Special Forces operator with MACV-SOG in Vietnam, and CIA paramilitary operative for more than 30 years after. Along the way he personally hunted Muammar Gaddafi, Carlos The Jackal, and Osama Bin Laden.

If you ever get a chance to read Billy Waugh's book Hunting the Jackal, jump on it. It's a great read.
Ordered it just now, thank you Mr. Lane. Our Special Forces are amazing. My neighbor's getting very close to retirement, 18E, got into a couple ied's at different times, now he teaches. The only crew that can do what they do: Wreak havoc, kill and break, then FIX EVERYTHING, mend the fences, and create partners. God bless them.
ReplyDeleteI encourage you WC to post more readable war posts' rather than video.
ReplyDeleteA couple of weeks ago you posted a story of a writer that was part of the story of Viet Nam. I read it all and liked it. Video is ..well.. boring, and so slow.
daddy-o
Then just speed up the playback.
DeleteI have no idea what Billy Waugh's age was in this interview. I know he passed away at 93. Yes, he does speak slowly and I can understand some feeling it was difficut to watch. However, I am on the other side of the aisle. After what that man went through and what he did for our country, take your time Billy. You have earned the right and I am honored to listen to you.
