Raise your children well

DALLAS (KTVT) - A couple in North Texas couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw a child taking a package left on their front porch.

Joe Gamboa and his wife Patricia Tiburcio have seen a lot on their doorbell security camera in the seven months they’ve lived in their neighborhood.

  1. A modern Fagin: an adult who recruits children and trains them as pickpockets and thieves, exchanging food and shelter for goods the children steal.

  3. You are not going to change the adult. The kid? Time will tell. The kid should be arrested, just so the kid knows what the is ahead for him in life. Charges can be dismissed, but not doing anything to the kid will not teach a lesson. The adult? Scum...

    1. Try reading the article and watching the video at the link before you make a comment. The video at the 50 second mark shows they're white.

  6. Maybe it's just because there's more business security and doorbell cams and news coverage, but there seems to have been a general increase in people's acceptance of porch pirates, shoplifters, vandals, and especially violent political protesters as a way of getting things done. There was a recent poll showing that about 28% of Democrats think the US would be 'better off' if Trump were assassinated. I think a combination of social media and violent TV/video games is desensitizing us to violence.

    1. I have never ever had anything stolen off my porch, even when I was living in town in California.

    2. Same here, but that’s because I have a Belgian Malinois that can distinguish between the mailman, the UPS delivery guy, the Amazon guy etc., on one hand, and porch pirates and unwanted solicitors, on the other

    3. I can't give that asshole dog Jack that kind of credit. He hates anybody that comes on to the property. He's an equal opportunity hater. CharlieGodammit was almost as bad.

    4. We had a guy walking from house to house, going up to the doors, and then moving on. I live on the ragged edge of town with only a few other neighbors. The owner of the plant nursery behind me decided to follow him at a distance after after he and I told the guy to get lost. the guy moved over about a half mile to a more populated area and started doing the same thing; walking up to each house and then moving on. The nurseryman called the sheriff. By the time he showed up, the guy had pilfered a couple of Amazon packages from the houses he "visited." He got a free ride with Deputy Dog...

  8. If you look closely, the kid has a braided picaninny hair do. Black blood in there somewhere.

    1. Okay, so you're saying the white guy that's supervising the kid is completely faultless?

    2. I don't think the adult male was white... Light skinned but the head and face is blurred enough there is no way to tell for sure.

  9. This dad will reap what he sewed. We have to tolerate an obnoxious liberal who taught his girls how to circumvent expenses in ways none of us can imagine. His 30 year old daughter gets engaged. Every evil way of conning her parents into spending a fortune for her wedding was taught to her by her dad. After buckling under to his daughter's demand that her parents arrange and pay for accommodations for her wealthy, out-of-town guests, he blew up. "What makes her think someone else should have to pay?" We all knew better than to tell him the truth. By the way, both the bride and groom earned prestigious degrees from Ivy League universities. The groom's signing bonus alone could have covered all the expenses.

  11. Fred in Texas, I grew up with a kid like that. His daddy taught him to steal early in life. He was White and American Indian. He was always a little sketchy. I hired him to help on a few jobs. Depending on what the job was and who we were working for was the determining factor about how much effort he'd give. The last job was demolition for a residential remodel. He said to me, "if you fire me and we go home, you don't have to pay me". I asked him if he was serious and he was. So we rolled it up and went home. I never hired him again. Sketchy people are a risk.

  14. Soon after we moved here, a guy came to the house after dark. His car had stopped and he needed some gas. We walked over to the barn. As I walked in, he said, "I am not walking into a barn after dark". Country folks around here are very polite.

  15. We have an Amazon delivery man who will just leave everything for our block on one porch. I've taken packages from my porch and left them where they were supposed to go. I've gotten delivery notices, but no delivery, which I know means they were delivered somewhere. So I go up and down both sides of the street and look for the porch with everybody's packages and go get mine.
