Dear 2:10, . Now, hold on. If we say anything about noticing, before you know it, everybody is going to write 'EST' [Every Single Time] and 'IAT' [It's Always Them] and 13/96, and our fun happy place will turn into an Arthur Sido or Tactical Hermit or Big Country crank-fest of cranky noticers. . s, Concerned Observer
#9 the good ol days, shift your gears, smoke a cigarette and change the c/d's oh how I miss those times. If you were rich you would have a c/d changer.
I'll add my most excellent rating to yours. Thanks Kenny...and..don't go...We need you and your kind to try and keep this screwed up world with some hope. Rob from Downunder.
Going over the handlebars and piledriving into the ground was QUITE common! It coined "taking a header." The first chain-driven bicycles were called "safety bicycles" because they put the rider closer to the ground, further behind below the top of the front wheel.
#14: The first vehicle invented that could outrun a horse. Still one of the most efficient machines ever invented.
FUN FACT: The first use of crude oil was for paving roads... FOR BICYCLES! Gasoline was a "useless byproduct that was disposed of because they couldn't think of a use for it...
#9 - somewhere in the 1980s, my one and only car crash - I got rear-ended while stopped to make a left turn into a Mickey Ds with my signal on by some kid (kid! Hah. I was probably 26 at the time) who told the responding officer he was reaching down to grab a cassette tape from the passenger floor, and took his eyes off the road "only for a second". My car was totaled, speed limit in that place was 45 and he was either doing the limit or a little more.
#7 A boss lamented about how former employees would ask for money on Monday after being paid on Friday. I said he hired the wrong people. Imagine my consternation when years later I had employers asking for money on Monday after being paid on Friday.
I made good money off the drunks and crack heads making payday loans to them. $5 on every $20 loaned per week. I was cheaper than the actual loan service.
# 9. And before CDs we had cassette tapes and before that 8 track tapes... Living was good and easy running the road with your sweetie under your arm jamming to the music JD..
#9: the 90s? Hell, I'm still running through my CDs in the car! And yes, as others have said, it was cassettes before that and 8-tracks before that. Gotta have my tunes....
#7): That lovely lady is Rachel Riley, a presenter on the BBC puzzle show COUNTDOWN and also the comedy spin-off 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She places letters and numbers on the board for players to come up with a solution/answer. There are you tube clips and whole episodes of 8 Out of 10 Cats to watch. She graduated college with a degree in mathematics, so she's not just a pretty face.

And looking for a good place to go “parking”…
DeleteAh. The 8 track. When they got a little out of line, you get to hear two songs at the same time!
DeleteTwo songs at the same time from the old 8 track was the poor man's stereo.
