  1. off hand I say someone didn't know what they where doing when they reloaded that ammo.
reloading is one time you best follow all the rules and safety guidelines.
I started reloading back in the 1990's and I follow the loading book .
I seen a few guns explode due to some fool doing things they should never do.
my buddy almost lost his sight to some stupid shit like putting hi power shotgun loads in a very old shotgun. not much left of the nice old shotgun afterwards. dave in pa.

  2. A primer-only load can have enough force to lodge the bullet deep enough into the bore so that you can chamber another round behind it. If you then eject the empty case, chamber another live round and fire the gun, gun go boom.

This can happen with factory ammo and reloaded ammo. I have personally witnessed click...stop and wait...clear the empty case and had people find a bullet lodged in their bore. I have also witnessed cookoffs, slam fires and "catastrophic gun failures".

  5. I wonder how many of those were using handloads. I've seen people at the range who start at the maximum load in the reloading manual and add more powder. That's why I now go to the range on weekdays so I can shoot by myself.

  8. Reloading isn’t for the mentally challenged. Firearms awareness is critical too. Primer load only is an invitation for disaster as is the double/triple charge in a pistol case.

  9. Been reloading since 1977. It is a process of endless repetition. Found long ago that the biggest danger is "White Line Fever". I load 20 rounds at a time. Drop powder, seat/crimp bullets, place loaded rounds in ammo box. Start again. Breaks up the routine, keeps me focused.
