Love is often part of Duty
Robert A. Heinlein said, “Do not confuse "duty" with what other people expect of you; they are utterly different. Duty is a debt you owe to yourself to fulfill obligations you have assumed voluntarily. Paying that debt can entail anything from years of patient work to instant willingness to die. Difficult it may be, but the reward is self-respect”.
My daughter had thick waist length hair. I used to trim the split ends, do hot oil treatments and could do a damn good French Braid. I enjoyed it because she liked it. By ten years old if I loosened everything she could change the oil/filter, points, condenser and other general maintenance. She was good at setting the double points on the 383 and later did the timing. Those were good days. I had a little girl so needed to do girl stuff but taught her boy stuff too. She got off the bus one day painted like French whore. Her mother went nuts. I said, were wearing makeup now? She said, Yup. I immediatly put her in the car and drove her to a place called Merel Norm. I approached the young gal behind the counter and said, can you do something with this? She took my kid in the back room and showed her how to apply the crap. Ya could hardly tell she had makeup on. Every xmas she got two bottles of makeup remover from me in her stocking. If ya can't lick em join em. I could go on and on. Raising her was a crazy time for sure. My hat goes off to the man in the video. I'd like to add my daughter excelled. Proud Dad.
