yup. wife got a golden the Christmas before last. and yes, he waits for us to wake up. he always gets me up first to go out and then he wait until she gets up. every morning it like the greatest thing that ever happened to him. now and then it a bit of a problem getting to the bathroom with him in the way being happy to see you.
Goldens and golden doodles seem like awesome dogs. It's a shame they are too big for me. Our 25 pound cocker mix is as big as I can handle these days. he's old and missing a back leg so I do a lot of picking him up- into the car, up on the bed, into the tub. Wish I'd been a dog person when I was younger, a golden would have been great.

Goldens are the best. I’m on my fourth one at age 66. The only downside is the grief you experience when they pass.
