#19. Got sent to the office for an off color joke. Principal said "don't tell jokes ib school you wouldn't tell your mother." I told him to call my house. When mon answered I asked her if she knew the joke in question. She did. Later at parent teacher conferences he pulled my dad aside and said he was shocked I'd tell a joke like that to my mom Dad replied that I'd probably heard it from her.
To hear John Wayne again would be worth it. Course he left the USA to run around the Baja Bay on his Yacht. Good actor and was always worth the price of admission.
He did not need to reprise it in another movie. The Jeff Bridges portrayal and the efforts of Matt Damon and the others made the movie. The John Wayne version with the singing drunk, Glen Campbell was typical Hollywood lollypop escapism. The Jeff Bridges version portrayed the era as it was. The characters were real, not sugar-coated.

ReplyDeleteI wonder if they irritate when receiving a Lewinsky.
DeleteAs to the overall meme, just a family picture without a dad says it better.
6. Jeff Bridges. Hands down, the best Rooster Cogburn.
ReplyDeleteDid he reprise the role in another film? NO! Proof John Wayne the the better actor for the role.

Delete#6 The original Magnificent Seven with Steve McQueen and James Coburn.
ReplyDelete#11 Bjork, Iceland's most famous singer. Also wore a swan dress.
