I got nothin' here

A group home in Ohio allowed a man with "intellectual and/or developmental disabilities" and a "history of constipation" to go weeks without a bowel movement, leading to a "massive" collection of impacted feces in his colon that "weighed over 20 pounds" and killed him, a lawsuit says.

  2. This condition is a lot more common than you would think. The medical term is called mega colon. Patients in hospitals that have undergone surgery and are on heavy narcotics, such as morphine or oxycodone become very constipated because narcotics slow down the bowel. In a hospital setting, they almost always catch it and administer cathartics. But every once in a while, each nurse documents, no bowel movement until the patient becomes septic.
