Well, yeah, I guess.....

I was doing some bulk 22LR shopping a minute ago and just couldn't wait to share it with you.
Found it HERE

Manufacturer: Winchester XPERT22
Item: 67636
UPC: 020892101272

This is Winchester .22 Long Rifle XPERT ammunition with a 36 Grain Lead Hollow Point at 1220 fps. It is suitable for shooting at things.

But what got me was the price of $253.10 for 500 rounds. Now I realize that this must be some extraordinary ammo to be able to shoot at things, but still..... I gotta be reading that thing wrong.

  1. 50 cents per 22 bullet sounds outrageous. Will you buy 20 or so to see of they're worth it?

  2. Target .22 ammo is crazy expensive. When I was competiting in Bullseye I used Federal Ultra Match for slowfire. Tweleve years ago it ran $11 for a box of 50. It added roughly 10 points to my slowfire score. Yeah, it was worth it. Then I got married. She's worth it too.

  3. I use Remington low-velocity hollow point. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/53197

It works very well in my 10/77 bolt action and revolver. It does have some problems extracting/feeding in my 10/22 semi-auto.

I also have a brick or two of both of the standard Remington HP high and low velocity stashed away.

    BTW: FUCK Obama

  4. I will never buy Winchester rimfire ammo. Stuff blows. I much prefer the Federal 36 grain copper plated stuff. I usually find it for about $20 in either the 525 (gun shop) or 550 (wally world) round box. Runs GREAT in my ruger 22/45 pistol as well as marlin mod 60 rifle.

Can't say that I disagree. Although I love my .308, I've filled my belly more often with my MKII and model 60. Getting kip makes me smile knowing that .22 is cheap and easy. .22's have created more smiles than all of the democrat legislators combined.

  9. The ad says 5000 rounds, not 500. Under 3 cents a shot.
