That’s already covered. All reputable recyclers here in Md require a copy of your drivers license or state issued id to take any significant amounts of scrap. Why? Because people were stripping copper pipe and wire from houses and stealing funeral vases. A few dishonest folks make it worse for honest recyclers - It’s a royal PITA.
I guess the scrap metal company that bought them bears no responsibility....
