And only a million? There's a shitload more than that here. Mr Fuentes needs to quit softening up his figures.

Initiative would let illegal immigrants work in Calif. legally
SACRAMENTO, Calif.-Nearly 1 million undocumented immigrants could live and work openly in California with little or no fear of deportation under an initiative unveiled Friday by a state legislator and others.
Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes, a Democrat, is helping spearhead the measure, called the California Opportunity and Prosperity Act.
The proposal was filed Friday with the state Attorney General's Office, marking a first step toward a drive to collect the 504,760 voter signatures needed to qualify for the ballot.
Fuentes called the measure a "moderate, common-sense approach" necessitated by the federal government's inability to pass comprehensive immigration reform.
"I hope this shows Washington, D.C., that if they fail to act, California will take the lead on this critical issue," Fuentes said in a written statement.
Supporters say the initiative could generate up to $325 million in new tax revenue from undocumented workers that could assist education, public safety and other state programs.
Regardless whether Californians would support such a measure, implementation would depend upon the federal government agreeing not to prosecute participants.
Assemblyman Tim Donnelly, a Republican, blasted the proposal as an attempt to sidestep immigration law. He predicted that it wouldn't have a "snowball's chance in hell" of winning voter approval.
"There's a proper process for coming to this country," Donnelly said. "Why don't you respect that?"
The proposed initiative would apply to illegal immigrants who have lived in California for four years, have no felony convictions, are not suspected terrorists, pay a fee to administer the program, and can speak English or are learning it.
I've worked at my company's facilities in southern CA. Tell ya what, they can have it. We keep the port of Long Beach and surrounding area; San Diego and parts east and north and put up a big fence south of Fresno or thereabouts. If they gripe too much about losing Long Beach, we'll give them San Fran. And if they gripe too much we can remind them with a turn of the tap or a flip of a switch where they really get their water and electricity from.
ReplyDeleteCalexico sucks as do all the politicians who work there. I worked there for the first 4 years of my federal law enforcement career. I was a Border Patrol Agent.
ReplyDeleteI am sickened by politicians and wet back loving assholes. They fail to see not only that such a law would be in violation of federal law which trumps state law but also that they are screwing legal resident aliens. When I was a BPA, one of our biggest allies in the war (yes it is a war because these dirt bags are invading our country) against wet backs was the legal resident alien. We used to go to the bus stops, for farm and ranch buses, that would pick up day workers each morning in the wee hours. There were hundreds and hundreds of men waiting for work each morning during he growing/picking seasons. One morning I had a guy walk over to me and ask me to check out one bus in particular that he had just tried to board for work. he was told no way Jose, dees bus bee full. He told me that he knew for a fact, at least about half of those on the bus were illegal. I was going to check it anyway but went to it next before it got the chance to leave.
Normally we would ask everyone who was a foreigner for papers or we would ask who was illegal. Chances were, the back door of the bus would fly open and 10 or 15 guys would bail out and try to run. Of course, I had a couple of other agents waiting out back but I had decided to try a new technique, somewhat because the legal resident alien told me that so many were illegal. I got on the bus, told them who I was (yes that was procedure even though I was in uniform) and then asked in a loud firm voice: WILL ALL THE LEGAL RESIDENT ALIENS AND ALL THE U.S. CITIZENS PLEASE RAISE YOUR HANDS. The question took everyone by surprise and only one guy raised his hand. He was the only legal on the bus and everyone else was arrested. My question really must have confused them because no one tried to run.
Now let me tell you something else that the legal resident alien, the guy who asked me to check that bus, had told me. he told me that the legal resident aliens and U.S. citizens who were pickers could often not get work because they were crowded out off of the busses by illegal who arrived at the pick up spots in groups. These groups would often use scare tactics to keep the legals from getting a seat on the bus. He was pretty pissed off because he said he had gone through the process of applying for resident alien status, then waited years to get it, then came here to work to support his family only to lose out on work because illegals were crowding out the citizens and legal resident aliens.
I will remember that guy and what he told me as long as Al Z. Heimer and Dee Mentia, do not become my every day associates. So without and reason not to and every reason to say it - I say fuck Calexico, fuck Kalifornia, fuck plans that allow illegals to work in the USA and fuck politicians who want to give up the USA to scum from foreign land.
All the best,
Glenn B
Amen to both of you.
ReplyDeleteGlenn - I can only imagine how fucking frustrating your job must've been - when you were allowed to perform it.
My thanks to you and all your compadres.
Just check out the last name of that california legislator and there's no guesswork of why he wrote that fucked up bill. The fucking illegals are voting these goddam scumbags into office right and left so they can write these types of "free passes" for their illegal buddies. Then old "moonbeam jerry can sign it into law for fear of being called a racist and voted off of his cushy ass. One case.....check out the mayor of LA and most of his council. When's America gonna wake up, when a hispanic boards the bus and the Americans jump out the back and start running??!!!!!????
ReplyDeleteGlenn B,
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, buddy. Back in '79, my second month of field training with San Diego PD was spent on graveyards down along the border. We worked with several of the BA's down there helping to spot "tonks". I remember one poor fellow trying to hide behind a four-inch wide sapling with his eyes closed, thinking we couldn't see him because he couldn't see us.
When I went to work for CHP, some of our civilian employees I worked with were resident aliens, and good people. They resented the hell out of the illegals who made a mockery of what they had to do to live here legally.
