Hundreds of pre-crime surveillance cameras are to be installed in San Francisco’s subway system that will analyze “suspicious behavior” and alert guards to potential criminal or terrorist activity – before any crime has been committed.
The cameras are programmed with a list of behaviors considered “normal”. Anything that deviates from usual activity is classified as suspicious and guards are immediately alerted via text message or a phone call.
Equipped with the ability to track up to 150 suspects at a time, the cameras build up a “memory” of suspicious behavior to determine what constitutes potential criminal activity.
A total of 288 cameras will be installed across 12 transport hubs.

Hey, every time I leave my fucking house I assume I'm on camera, be it a traffic cam, neighbors' or local business security camera, possibly even surveillance from the police on occasion. I'm not to the point where I believe drones are spying on me. Yet. But I'm pretty sure I'm on someones camera pretty much throughout my day. No biggie, I just deal with it like you do - without thinking. I just try to not fuck up too much in public.

But a 'pre-crime' camera? Give me a fucking break, man. It won't be a week before the fucking "Law" will start using them as warrantless surveillance cameras, doing that end run around the Constitution again.
I can hear it now:
"Honest Your Honor, we were watching the crowd for suspicious activity and just happened to notice a bulge on Mr. Lane's side. In order to maintain Public Safety, we detained and searched the suspect who was found to be in possession of a 45 caliber Colt automatic handgun. Also, we discovered 3 knives, 32 grams of a dark brown substance later determined to be Copenhagen tobacco and a half a stick of fucking dynamite. No shit."
Okay, that scenario ain't never gonna happen - I live 90 miles from San Francisco and haven't been there in 6 years. I also don't carry dynamite in public. And I won't submit to a warrantless search. But hey! you get my point.

  2. I feel for ya Kenny, I grew up in SoCal, left 14 years ago, and glad I did. THe libs and illegals have turned paradise into a wrecking yard.
We have to go back next week to take care of some family business; other than that, the only parts of CA I ever plan on visiting again would be the Sierras.
