MIAMI (AP) — George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer charged with murder in the killing of Trayvon Martin, surrendered to police Sunday and was booked into jail after having his bail revoked two days earlier.
Zimmerman's legal team said in a tweet that he was in police custody. Zimmerman's bail was revoked because the judge said he and his wife lied to the court about their finances so he could obtain a lower bond.
On Sunday afternoon, about 40 minutes before the 2:30 p.m. deadline to surrender, Zimmerman was listed as an inmate on the jail website. He was listed as being held without bail and having $500 in his jail account.
Prosecutors had said Zimmerman and his wife told the judge at a bond hearing in April that they had limited money, even though he had raised about $135,000 through a website. Defense attorneys said the matter was a misunderstanding.
Attorney Mark O'Mara announced earlier Sunday on his website that Zimmerman had arrived in Florida late Saturday evening ahead of his surrender. Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of the 17-year-old Martin, was ordered by a judge Friday to return to jail.

Now wait a fucking minute. I thought the idea behind a bond was simply a guarentee that you'll return to court for trial.
Zimmerman came back and surrendered early by order of the Court and now his lawyers have requested a new bond hearing which if granted, will surely be completely unaffordable.
Why? The man has already proven that he has no intention of fleeing the country just by the fact that he's in jail right now. Besides, the fact that he had a website to raise money was no secret - I posted it and I got it from Matt Drudge who's daily readership numbers in the millions, I'm sure.
This bullshit isn't about flight risk, its about the judge doing his part for the prosecutor to establish a pattern of integrity issues for the defense. This guy has the whole deck stacked against him. TPTB are pissed he is getting the support from the rest of us law abiding citizens and we are not subscribing to the bullshit scenario the propaganda corps is trying to pedal to us.
ReplyDeleteThey intend to lynch this guy. Damn the facts.
ReplyDeleteThe take away lesson? If you haven't realized it up to this point, realize it now;
There is no justice for thee, but for the new aristocracy and those acting on their orders, there is no punishment. (John edwards, John Corizine, Banksters, the murderers of Jose Guerena and the Black Panthers.)
That is what the revolutionary war was about kids. Separate justice under the law. NOT taxes.
Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Obama. Or Romney. Take your "pick".
Zero's gotta keep the race thing going, so they shut down Z's website, now they're jailing him for "lying" because he "didn't report" donations for his bail, legal defense, and the money it costs to keep him hidden from the lynch mob.
ReplyDeleteThe whole thing's a crock. Zero, Holder, and the race-mongers know it's just a matter of time before Z's cleared. Sadly, the best outcome for them is if Z's killed in jail, it's never ruled by a court, and they can milk this (and fill their bank accounts) for the rest of their lives.
What a fucking railroad job, Z needs some savage lawywers on his side.
ReplyDeleteTo quote the constable in Young Frankenstein, "A rriot iss an ugly thing! And it's about time we had one!"
It's a damn shame there aren't the number of people rallying support for justice for Zimmerman as there was for a little thug that was trying to kill him. He is going to be a lamb led to slaughter in the name of "racial equality". There will be NO justice served in this case.

The money raised is in a trust not accessible by the Martins except for legal fees. That fact will be raised by his attorneys at a new bond hearing. The fact that he has returned and surrendered will work in his favor as proving he is not a flight risk.
ReplyDeleteJ Beck might be on the right track. Z could be murdered in his cell. Then the whole mess just quietly goes away. No muss, no fuss.
ReplyDeleteThe old German saying: "...when they came for ..." - fill in the blank. That there is not a national outrage over this case with signifant push back is frightening. I keep saying (because I truly believe it) is that the rule of law in this country is dead. You are on your own - hope you have good backup.
