You can start the healing process after today WC. Your POPS is now home and he'll be waiting for you and the rest of your family.God grant him peace and happiness.
I know words won't make your heart ache any less, but perhaps knowing so many people are thinking about you and your family will give you comfort and peace.
As somebody who has been droppin' in here for awhile now, I want to extend my condolences. No words we say can make it any better right now, but it sounds to me as though you're your Pop's son, and that's the best way to think of yourself. My best to you and yours, and the next time you say a prayer for your Pop, pass along my thanks for his service.
My thoughts are with you and yours wirecutter. Remember the great ones, those that have passed before us, those who served, those who taught, those who kicked our ass when we needed it. May peace find you.
Ken, I lost my pops in 86. The biggest thing right now is mom, mom hasn't been alone since a long time ago. Your Real feeling will take a while to surface, so you take care of mom, god will let you know when you time to lose it. It took me about a month so be prepared you friend the angry one............ .
Those flag's are the most expensive item's on earth. I know I've got two of them. I really believe ( and I think your dad would agree ) there are only 2 occasion's worthy of bringing them out, Memorial day and Veteran's day. The 4th of July is now a meaningless date unworthy of mention . Condolences to you and your family. Guy's like your dad are the real backbone of America .
Ken, Hope all went well at the funeral. I bet you had no idea how much your dad was respected and loved. Sounds like you're following in his footsteps pretty closely.
Now comes the worst, carrying on without him. Though you are without your dad in the world as we know it, he's always with you. Always. And then you have all of us here, most who have never met you, but who are here for you 24/7. I hope that helps.
God Speed Sir, your work is over, time to meet up with old friends and say CHEERS with the Lord.

ReplyDeleteWe Carry On
ReplyDeleteThere are many words that will,
Forever remain unspoken.
For the loss of our loved ones,
Left us all heart-broken.
They defended our freedom,
And paid the ultimate price.
For the way we live our lives,
They gave their sacrifice.
They have given their lives,
To help us calm our fears.
But the sacrifices that they made
Will never wash away our tears.
The people of our nation will,
Forever be in their debt.
They are no longer with us,
For their fates had been met.
All that we can do now
Is to look into the past.
Cherish the times together spent,
and make those memories last.
Our lives may be emptier,
Now that that they may be gone.
But we must fulfill their legacy,
By the lives we carry on.
By: Jon M. Nelson
I have no doubt you will fulfill his legacy.
