    3. It's a "show off" piece. As a welder meowndamnself, my brain ACHES just thinking about trying to get a bead into some of those nooks, let alone get good penetration AND make it look good.

  2. I don't know what it is, but it's called "Stacking Dimes".
    It's good, but I've seen better.
    Never done any, though.
    That's done with a TIG welder.
    I do MIG because it's faster, and I can cover up my mistakes with paint.

    1. certainly looks like TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas)but I haven't done any welding in 40 years so what do i know.

    2. with enough practice, and the proper settings.. MAYBE.

      But to get it to look like that you would essentially be stacking 'tacks' and would have next to no penetration. I wouldn't trust it to actually hold much of anything.

    A bunch of welders at my job use that type of weld for Airplane related stuff.

  6. The bead is nice but the tube cutting and the jig to hold it receives the prize.
