Our grandkid's stepdad is one of them. He talks a good line but I remember a couple years ago he brought his AR out to sight in his new iron sights on my little 50 yard range. Nice rifle, probably had a thousand bucks into it with all the bells and whistles, but he had to stop off at Walmart and pick up a couple boxes of ammo.
Him and his wife both worked and neither of them felt like cooking when they got off, so they ate fast food at least 5-6 times a week. Because of that they had no food stored in the house other than a couple cases of MREs. Somehow I don't think that's changed but I don't know for sure - they live 50 miles away and we don't see much of them at all. Lisa's back can't handle the drive out to their place and they don't want to drive here.
