Judge Andrew Napolitano: We are witnessing the slow death of civil liberties

Governors will overreach again and again until a courageous federal court or an outraged public stops them, says Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano.

  1. When President Trump announced the second quarantine period, 30 Days To Stop The Spread, at the end of March on the daily briefing, he appeared on stage flanked by a bunch of Generals and Admirals. My first reaction was "Oh Shit! Martial Law." While he didn't declare it and neither have any of the Governors, formally, the entire country has effectively been under it since mid-March. If it wasn't for the defiant demonstrations in several of the states recently, I wonder if anyone would be seriously discussing relaxation of the quarantine.

If there's an uptick in Kung Flu, after several states declare the quarantine over, will be the point at which some of the governors, most probably Demonrats, like Witless in MI and Nuisance in CA, who'll do it.

  2. It seems the judge is fomenting for civil unrest. He knows that the trust in the courts is low. The judge would be more believable if he himself were to participate in what he's calling for. Tell me how he is any different than the guy at a ring side seat watching the fight?

    1. Napolitano has turned into some weird kind of libertarian drudge. He can find something wrong with any set of facts you present him with. It always ends up with "See? Unconstitutional!"

I pretty much dismiss his counsel these days.
