Court Rules Florida's 'Stand Your Ground' Law Applies to Suspect in Shooting of Deputy

PORT ST. JOHN, Florida -- Citing the 'Stand Your Ground,' law, the Fifth District Court of Appeals dismissed the longstanding charges against a Port St. John man accused of shooting a Brevard County Sheriff's deputy during a botched arrest in front of his home in 2015.

Of course he spent 5 years in jail waiting on the court's decision.....

He should sue their asses off for the lost 5 years....most of the time the cops get it right, but the times they don't they should pay and pay dearly....I was once in the tank in Brevard, in Titusville at the time (1970)locked in with a junkie who was busted BEFORE he was able to score.....that was fun....oh, BTW, I was arrested for leaving the Cape during a mandatory traffic break and forgetting to turn the light on the top of my truck off....you see, we had it alligator clipped to the battery, and....anyway, suffice it to say the cop was an a-number one asshole who was so proud of himself for arresting "one of them thar long hairs"....

  2. I see no reason these cops shouldnt be treated just as I would be if I illegally detained someone for five years.

  3. I think a million, tax free, for every year spent in jail and the arrest and full prosecution of EVERYONE involved in his incarceration is not asking too much.

    1. And the five million you're suggesting he get should be taken from the Brevard County Sheriff's pension fund. That'd get their absolute attention to policing their own!
