Newsom to reward illegals with stimulus payment

On Wednesday Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that about 150,000 undocumented workers in California will receive a one-time cash payment of between $500 and $1,000, as part of a $125 million disaster relief fund created to help immigrant families impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

  1. O/T but related, anyone out there got your $1200.00 yet? I get Soc. Sec. direct deposit so they have my info. $0.00 as of ~2:30.

    1. we got ours on the 15th, we also get social security.We also have to file taxes and have our refund direct deposited so they had that info, which may be the difference.

  2. My family got our ours. However, my parents on SS have not. They got a human on the phone and IRS said it takes a bit to coordinate account info from another agency that has a different software.

  3. And it may be timed the same as your Social Security check deposit, based on what day of the month you were born.

  5. Good ol' bureaucracy. I wonder how many people will actually remember how truey inept the Gov is during real emergencies when this blows over. If things go back to relative normal they probably won't.
