A CNN crew was arrested by police Friday morning while giving a live television report in Minneapolis, where the crew was covering ongoing protests over the death of George Floyd.
The crew, including correspondent Omar Jimenez, were handcuffed and detained as Jimenez gave a live report on a Minneapolis street shortly after 5 a.m. CT (6 a.m. ET).
Police told the crew they were being detained because they were told to move, and didn’t, one member of the CNN crew relayed to the network.

No, they're not special and didn't claim to be. They're nominally journalists and had proper credentials. I just watched the video of the arrests. The lead was talking to the cops the whole time they were approaching and then accosting them, telling them who he and his crew were and asking the cops to tell them where they wanted the crew to go. Instead on of the badge-heavy cowboys decided to arrest them.
ReplyDeleteNice fuckin' work, shitheads. Too chickenshit to defend your station or the property of citizens but balls out to bust a news crew that was doing nothing but standing in the street.
You're right, they were doing nothing but standing in the street. You sure as hell couldn't call it "news reporting" since the reporters are prohibited from using the word "riot" to describe a "riot"!
DeleteThe commie CNN virtue-signaling queens will make hay out of this by implying Trump gave the arrest orders, via a Tweet.
ReplyDeleteThere should have been a designated media zone? In the middle of a riot. OK.
ReplyDeleteWho gives a shit About CNN reporters Let them go where they want to and when the get their asses handed to them and complain the cops can say freedom of the press.
ReplyDeleteFuck Em

Whether you find their style of journalism repugnant or not they are still protected by the constitution. There are no freedom of speech zones as there are no second amendment zones.
