ReplyDeleteVenezuela is a bad example according to the advocates of socialism. Real socialism produces a worker's paradise where everyone is well fed, well housed, well clothed, and always deliriously happy. All those cases that ended with people eating their pets weren't real socialism.
ReplyDeleteSome years ago when visiting Portugal on a business trip we were served, as one of a "pick your food from platters" lunch, congealed pigs' blood.

For the sake of trying it, I tried it. Hard pass. (This was well before I started trying to keep kosher.)
I had blood sausage at a restaurant in the UK once. I thought it was OK.

Black pudding (blood sausage) is awesome breakfast food.
DeleteI was a Cattle trader at the CME. One of the old timers told me at the Stockyards in Chicago back during the Depression it cost a Nickle for a cup of blood. he said people lined up for it.
