  1. Your rights further eroding. They don't know who is driving that vehicle so unless they are breaking the law they have no right to pull it over.

  2. 'Course they're only going to show the reads and stops that catch offenders. Just another tool to harass law abiding citizens.

  8. With a big stretch of the doctrine of in plain site...same as when they run your plate when behind you. Technically should not do that w\o probable cause, but hey most of us on here match some kind of warrant or perp description at any given time so even that is almost a joke.

  10. When parking in many airport garages the Police will drive through and scan your plate. Some, like Boston Logan Airport, will print out where you are parked on your ticket when you pay. This is to detect if a car has been moved while you were gone (and loaded with explosives). DHS idea.

Other airports scan plates and boot you for unpaid tickets (Hartford Bradley main garage). What a bitch it must be to come home from your expensive vacation and have to pony up more money! I used to see many cars booted at Bradley but the last year or so only a couple so either the word hot out or they’ve slowed down patrols.

  11. I wonder if the cop's reader still works if you display the plate upside down?

  12. ir and uv light from LEDs using ic555 chips will easily defeat just about any camera in existence. Simple to make and deploy. Speed cameras are a joke, as well as those plate readers.
