UCLA professor suspended after refusing leniency for black students

A professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, says he was suspended from his job after refusing a student’s request to effectively cancel final exams for black students amid protests over the death of George Floyd.

“I have been placed on involuntary leave for three weeks, and it looks like it may end up being more than that,” Gordon Klein, who teaches accounting at the school, told The Post.

Klein — whom students slammed as “racist” and “dismissive” — was also placed under police protection at his Malibu home after receiving threats from critics furious over the email exchange, the Free Beacon reported.

  2. Gotta love his reply "Do you know the names of the classmates that are black? How can I identify them since we’ve been having online classes only?.....Remember that MLK famously said that people should not be evaluated based on the color of their skin … Do you think that your request would run afoul of MLK’s admonition?”

He teaches accounting. While accounting isn't exactly a hard science it does have specific rules that must be followed and you either do it correctly or you don't. Not like a literature or history class where opinion can color the matter.

    1. For me, accounting was mostly a breeze, usually fun, and an easy way to get a good grade, though that worked for only about half the class that was good with simple arithmetic. I'm guessing the UCLA blacks demanding a passing grade are in that other half that have no clue. Maybe they can get an accounting job with the government with their fake diploma.

    2. According to the story, it was white students who sent the first email.

  5. His first line regarding the names of students says it all, but the idiots receiving the email haven't learned a thing - yet.

  6. So, let me get this straight... because of your colour, you want to be treated differently?
    oh wait,
Only if you are black, and if being treated differently means above all the rest.
That is what you are all protesting for? The George Orwell 1984 Equality: All Pigs are created equal; some are just more equal than others.
    .
So now if I see a black person with a BLM identifier (I have a few friends of darker skin and they hate all this shit), then I will most certainly treat them different - perhaps not in the way they prefer. Fuckem.

    1. Dug, universities these days teach the first part of your comment but not the second part. Glad my kids are out of school, with not a penny of debt, and do not have to put up with all the overpriced PC "education" that is rampant these days.

  9. I did not see any mocking by the professor. I guess it is no longer possible to have any give and take conversations/discussions in college without some whiny, self entitled brats taking offense to them.

  10. The root problem isn't black people. The problem is the eternal subversives who weaponized black people. It's not persons such as Sharpton, or Farrakhan, Jackson, or even Obama who've done the heavy lifting of subverting culture through academia and popular culture (Hollywood), and of the legal warfare -- on parallel tracks through the legislatures and the courts that have brought us to this ridiculous and shameful state we're in today.

It's the Alinskys, the Gramscis, the Bill Ayerses (and other Weathermen types), who are the obvious bad types. Then you have people who may seem to be well meaning, but who have wreaked great harm in the misguided belief that they are "fixing the ills of the world". People such as the politicians in Minnesota who brought in all those Somalis, and the goodwhites who voted for them.

  11. "We don't want to be treated the same.....we want special treatment"....said by any black college student ever...
