Several people have died and hospitalizations have significantly increased over the last two months in Arizona due to people ingesting hand sanitizer containing methanol, according to officials.
Since May, four people have died and 26 people were hospitalized after ingesting hand sanitizer with methanol, according to the director of the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center Dr. Steve Dudley.

ReplyDeleteActually even using methanol based sanitizer on your hands can be fatal. It is absorbed through the skin.
ReplyDeleteThere was a warning a nonth ago about a couple mexican and a lot of chinese brands of sanitizer that methanol not ethanol and deadly.

I was buying the big jugs of hand sanitizer to use as fire starter for my wood stove before all this hit. Works dang good for that purpose, too. A big jug from Costco would last me all season.
