In Korea I was at a tiny camp Called Camp Giant, the only occupants were us, Alpha Company light infantry, and Army Engineers, which were all Korean civilian hires. We called it Camp Miniature and Alphatraz. Anyway, when I got there they had a company mascot, a St. Bernard that some soldiers rescued from a nearby dog farm. He was chained up during the day in front of the door. One day a Korean worker, back from his dog meat lunch, came to the orderly room to ask some question. The St. Bernard smelled the dog in his sweat and attacked him. He didn't kill him, but he drew blood and ripped the mans shirt to shreds. We all had a good laugh about that one. No more Koreans approached our company area without an escort.
