  1. One of the things I've never understood about drug pricing. How has a our .gov allowed other countries to negotiate lower prices than what we pay for the exact same drug. That right there should tell anyone all they need to know about politicians.

    1. Medicare and Medicaid are the reasons for the high cost of health care. You have government bureaucrats setting prices. You can bet that kickbacks and bribes play a role in the process.

    2. Kickbacks and bribes aren't necessary if the politician owns enough stock in the company. They didn't become millionaires after being elected by settling for a few briefcases full of cash.

    4. Get along, Go along, and when you retire, you will get a good job with us.

That explains why every one in Government thinks an old widely used generic drug like Hydroxy Chloriquine or Ivermectin is suddenly dangerous now.

  2. Our Congress men and women need millions of $$$$$ in (re)election funds. Pharmaceutical companies deliver that money.
Why do they need that money?
To buy TV soundbites telling voters that they can't be bought.

  3. Careful what you wish for. The USA leads the world in creating new drugs that make everyone's lives better and if you take the profit out of it, no new life saving drugs.

What, Cuba, Venezuela, etc are going to pick up the slack in innovation?

    1. I get what you're saying but since most drug manufacturers get federal funding to create new drugs our tax dollars are already fattening their wallets. There's no reason for the US to be paying more for the drugs than those socialist governments that wait for us to do the heavy lifting.
