Washing Eggs - The How and Why

There is an age-old debate surrounding the idea of washing fresh eggs, and there are really two ways of looking at it.

    I read: 1. It is against the law to wash eggs for sale in the European Union; 2. an egg dipped in oil will remain good for a year. Vegetable or olive preferred over motor or transmission.
