Be a Patriot - obey your government
(AP) - Joe Biden is calling for a nationwide protective mask mandate, citing health experts’ predictions that it could save 40,000 lives from coronavirus over the next three months.
“Wearing the mask is less about you contracting the virus,” Biden said. “It’s about preventing other people from getting sick.”
The Democratic presidential candidate also responded to those who push back against such mandates.
“This is America. Be a patriot. Protect your fellow citizens. Step up, do the right thing.”

ReplyDeleteWhere is the data which proves that wearing masks REALLY does prevent the spread of Covid ? Most of the data I've seen that large groups of people that congregate tend to spread it, regardless of mask / no mask. Its physical contact Joe.

If it wasn't for the pussy ass RINO mayor of my city mandating masks be worn in all public buildings and the fact that I like to be able to replace items of food that I've used in the previous week or two, I wouldn't wear one at all.

ReplyDeleteOnly worn a mask once and that was by request in my doctors office. If a business requires one and I need something they have then I follow their rules.

I never bothered with a mask, unless forced to, such as at the doctor's office, etc. Now, the Empress of Lansing, Gretchen Whitless, has declared that you have to wear a mask in any indoor building. And she just ordered the state police to step up their enforcement of the executive order. It includes a 500$ fine and possible jail time.

I asked the manager down the road how long she thought the mask mandate would go on. She is old like me. She said, " Probably until people get sick of it and tell the government to get screwed." I think that she is probably about as close as any other person as being right.

ReplyDeleteSo far America, with 4% of the world's population, has 25% of the COVID-19 deaths and an infection rate climbing like an express elevator. The consensus in the rest of the world is that America is a pariah. This has led to a majority of nations (90%+) closing their borders to American travel.
ReplyDeleteWhat Americans don't seem to grasp is that COVID-19 is a new virus. A virus that humanity has no immunity too. By not social distancing, hand washing and wearing a mask to help contain the virus, we run the risk of experiencing what the indigenous populations of the new world went through when they encountered old-world explorers with diseases that they had no immunity to, a major die-off.
You can choose to wear a mask, or not. You can wash your hands, or not. You can social distance, or not. Anybody can choose to do these things, but it takes a real hard individual to face death all alone in a hospital bed or watch a friend, mother, father, sister, brother die because your refusal to act saw them getting infected. The choice is yours.
Since man has walked on the face of this earth there has always been a new virus. Once our immune systems are exposed to the virus it "learns" how to handle it. That's the same principal as to how a vaccine works.
