House votes to remove Confederate monuments at National Parks

GETTYSBURG, Pa. — The Licensed Battlefield Guides at Gettysburg are raising the alarm over a recent vote in the U.S. House of Representatives that would remove Civil War monuments from federal parks nationwide.

*

According to Fowler, the legislation in question, HR-7608, would direct the National Park Service to remove all Confederate monuments, memorials, placards and statues at Gettysburg, Vicksburg, Antietam, Chickamauga, Manassas, Petersburg, Fredericksburg and 18 other battlefields and historic sites within six months.

      George Orwell was right.

    2. I truly have no words to express my feelings about this. My mind is reeling trying to comprehend the thought process behind such a bill. This kind of SHIT has got to STOP. A slow burning hate is beginning to grow in many of us. It will not quick abate. May God have mercy on us for what is coming.

  2. Strip the history and we won't know why the Civil War was fought. Just another way to dumb down the snowflakes.

  7. I have emailed my senator with my feelings on this matter with a link to the article. I highly recommend all of you who are as pissed about this as I am that you do the same. Elections are upon us and it is time to let the politicians know that there are more of us than the low life scum bags that are rioting and burning their cities down and that we are sick and tired of this stupid shit and it has to stop.

    1. Time is about here when writing your congresscritter and making appeals civilly is about to come to an end. Soon, it will be time to meet the communists out by the statue and you will need to kill them all. Plan for it. Make it work for your advantage.

  8. This is American history. It may be a bit dark but it needs to be respected. Any politician that votes for this needs to be removed from office.

  9. The Parks Service is part of the Interior Department, which is part of the Executive Branch. Does a part of the Legislative Branch have the authority to tell Parks Service how to run its parks? If the bill stands as written, President Trump is likely to veto the measure.

  10. The National Parks fall under the direct supervision of the Department of the Interior, which falls under the authority of the Executive branch of the Federal Government. If push comes to shove, the president could make things difficult for the removal of any monument in a national park, at least for awhile. Until enough patriots can gather there.

  11. Why do battlefield guides have to be licensed?

  12. It's going to be very confusing for visitors touring the battlefield in the future.

"Why did the Union Army come here? Who killed all those Union soldiers? Why are they saying that these men were heroes when they were alone in the field by themselves?"

  13. My Great X3 Grandfather Thomas J. Higgins won the CMOH at THE Battle OF Vicksburg with the 99th Illinois Regiment. The interesting part is that he was captured and then released back to the Union along with a written commendation for bravery from the Confederate Army. At Vicksburg, every state that had a unit in the battle, North or South, has a monument. Missouri actually has 2 because they had people on both sides. To remove the Confederate monuments would destroy the aesthetic of the battlefield park and ruin the story it tells. I actually have a National Land Service Award and Vicksburg Historic Trek Award my son and I each earned when I was a Scout Leader doing land improvements to the park. Sorry about a long comment but this kind of ignorance really pisses me off. Maybe these people should roll up their sleeves and go do something for the country instead of being offended all the time.

  14. What this boils down to is lack of U.S. history education. These lefty snowflakes disregard anything that happened before they were born. It didn't happen, as far as they're concerned. I've got news for them!!

  18. How many slave uprisings were there during the period April 1861-April 1865? How many were there previous to the period when the United States were/was encouraging the slaves to rise up against their masters? Cricket...as they say. 1831? Is that all you got?

Read the first chapter of "Up From Slavery" by BT Washington...read it aloud to your moronic leftist neighbors...
