WASHINGTON – The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York entered a consent decree imposing a permanent injunction barring two individuals and two companies that transmitted massive volumes of fraudulent robocalls from conveying any telephone calls into the U.S. telephone system, the Department of Justice announced today.

I just need their names and addresses so I can discuss my warranty with them in person!
ReplyDeleteRetired Cop
I've been getting shit in the mail 5 times a month and robo calls 3 times a day from these assholes. Ya think they'll comply? They'll just switch names and the beat will go on.
ReplyDeleteIf DOJ wants to fix the problem permanently they'd take the first 10 robo scammer companies on their list and get 25 years in the slammer for the honchos doing the scamming. Might just send a message of the rest of the scammer "community".
DeleteI loved these calls. I would fuck with those douche nozzles for about 15 minutes. I would tell them I own 4 cars and want to extend the warranty on all of them. I'd give them different makes, models and years. I gave them cc numbers from empty gift cards.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is "Frank Thomas" from credit card services who is going to lower my cc interest to zero percent.
Hello?
ReplyDeleteIs Maria there?
"Call back later; she's upstairs with a customer."
DeleteMy favorite is the call from "Windows" about the virus in my computer. I always play along until I get a Human, then ask them why they're calling me since I have a Mac, not a PC!! For some strange reason they always hang up on me.
ReplyDeleteI was getting those warranty calls for about three months, although I didn't know that's what they were since I never answered them. Finally, about a week ago, I answered and listened to the young woman's schpeel for about a minute, told her that if she or anyone from that company called again she was not going to like what happened next. Haven't heard from them since and I've had NO CALLS from anyone I don't know.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind so much, but CONgress and the phone companies could end these calls in a NY minute. The reason they don't? M O N E Y, as usual. The phone companies make bank off of these calls, that's why they don't do anything about them, even though they have the technology to find the perpetrators in less time than it took to type this post.

Nicholas Palumbo in scottsdale AZ is named on the permanent injunction.
ReplyDeleteNot that it means shit; got 2 of those calls just this AM.
CC
Had two this AM re: extended car warranty. I hate those fuckers. I just let any number I don't know go to the answering machine
ReplyDeletePeople like this should be flogged to death with barbed wire, naked while being hosed down with hot vinegar.
ReplyDeleteBut then, I’m a moderate.
I'd personally like to kill'em. It would be worth it even if it meant spending the rest of my life in prison.
ReplyDeleteHi! This is Kimberly, calling from the Warranty Department. Don't hang up.
