  2. Hahaha! I had a buddy who worked in the OR as a tech. He'd been on-call all weekend and it was non-stop craziness; he ended up working for nearly 20h straight. Monday morning at 8am he was finally done, and was headed home on the MBTA ("the T" Boston subway). Bleary and unshaven, he bought himself a big to-go cup of coffee to stay awake, took the lid off to let it cool more quickly and drank it down. Buddy woke to a cop kicking his shoe, "Hey, wake up. You can't beg inside T stations!"
"Huh? I'm not begging, I ..." Buddy looked down into the coffee cup, which had some change and a few dollar bills in it. Apparently people thought he was a passed out bum, and had put money in his cup.

"So what did you do? I asked.
"Ah, I just apologized to the cop and said I wouldn't do it again. I figured it was easier than trying to explain the real situation."

    1. Your story beats mine. Your friend probably made 3 times what the cop did.

About 35 years ago I had gotten off work at the ammo plant and headed into Riverbank City of Action to do some shopping when the starter on my truck went out, so I called a friend from a phone booth to come get me and take me to the parts store to get another one.
I usually wore tore up clothes when I worked at the plant because that place was hell on pants, so here I am sitting on a planter outside the store waiting on Proper Bob and this woman pulls up and she motions me over. I figured she needed directions or something, so I went over to see what she wanted. She dug through her purse, handed me a 5 dollar bill and asked me to please not spend it on alcohol or drugs, then drove off leaving me there laughing.
I didn't know where I could buy drugs for 5 bucks but I damned sure bought me and Proper Bob a couple tall boys when he showed up a few minutes later.
