Lame Johnny Donahue

Cornelius “Lame Johnny” Donahue was an outlaw stage robber and horse thief that operated in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Donahue was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in about 1850 where he grew up to attend Girard College, an elementary through high school center that took in impoverished and orphaned boys. Attending from 1862 through 1872, his academic and conduct scores were very very good.

  2. The Jenny Stockade was outside present day Newcastle, Wyoming and there's a historical marker commemorating the site on the road between Newcastle and Custer, South Dakota. In case anyone other than me happens to be in the neighborhood. Doesn't look like I'll make it this year but there's also a pretty good hamburger place on the east side of Newcastle.
