NYC mayor ignored approval process for BLM murals while holding others' political speech hostage to permits

New York City officials sidestepped their own application process for Black Lives Matter murals around the city, as Mayor Bill de Blasio once again faces backlash for prioritizing mural painting over running the city.

According to the New York Post, the mayor's administration is now facing criticisms of favouritism and for disenfranchising New Yorkers of their First Amendment rights for refusing to give the go-ahead to other proposals.

While other groups didn't get the green light, the Black Lives Matter murals did not even require approval.

  1. There were some pro life demonstrators arrested in DC yesterday for writing on the sidewalk with chalk.

Is this the equality they were talking about??

You get the government you vote for, good and hard sometimes.

  3. Don't play their game. It's not a mural, it's graffiti. It's partisan, state-sponsored graffiti. Letting them control the language makes it easier for them to control everything else.
