These plates have generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Sons of Confederate Veterans, or SCV. However, he fight to ban them in the state is far from over.
For some, the flag is a symbol of heritage.

I had these plates on my truck last year, but when I renewed my registration on June 5th, I went ahead and got regular plates. While I felt perfectly comfortable driving around with them here, I do travel occasionally to larger cities, usually to Lisa's doctor's appointments with her in the truck and I didn't want to make her and my truck a target.
Removed the SYF and NRA stickers from my truck for the same reason.

I get it that you don't want to be a target. Is it something that you could put a piece of duct tape temporarily over the flag and later take it off? Personally, that is what I would have done. Kinda like the magnetic sign on my truck, I can put it on and take it off when I park or drive in a questionable neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteHey Kenny;
ReplyDeleteSee if Tennessee has regular veterans plates for your truck, it might come with some bennies along with it. Just something to think about. Here in GA I have a GA Veterans Tag on one of my vehicles and I pay no plate tax on renewal every year.
Same reason I don't put NRA or Trump stickers on my car. There's facing up to trouble, and there's avoiding trouble in the first place. Way too many sanctimonious assholes out there.
ReplyDeleteAll of the above. I took the NRA sticker off and stopped having a Confederate Flag tag or Georgia flag tags. The old one had the state seal and the battle flag or after some controversy, the Stars and Bars. Now, it's not safe because of the Democrat college town next door but I originally stopped with the flag tags when some kid in Kentucky was shot over flying the flag. Advertise nothing is my motto. No, wait. My "classic" Durango has an amateur radio tag. That's not a problem yet.
ReplyDeleteOur lives, our wealth, our sacrid honor. "But my wife."
ReplyDelete4 years as the battle flag for the confederate army ; 150 years as the flag of the democrat party ,used by Obama in 2008.
ReplyDeleteI have SCV tags on both my personal trucks; have had since they started offering them. I've been waiting for the CCCP--oops, I mean the state--to stop offering them. They considered it after the SC church shooting.
ReplyDeleteI still fly either the Battle Flag or the 3rd National at my house.

With killing white people punishable by anger mangement (and parole for assaulting mentally handicapped folks who are white), I am getting rid of mind when they are up for renewal. I can't replace them with a different one until then. I checked and in 'bama you can replace them with the same thing but you can't replace them with a different kind of tag. I got kids. I can't fly the colors and end up dead. My ex is a coke head so I really cant be killed until my kids are grown. I know it sucks to say this, but its just not worth dying over.
ReplyDeleteNo CSA plates here either. i have a Trump T-shirt, but don't wear it in public due to our locale has about an 80% Democrap population. Probably be some trouble over it.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe we can't be civil because of politics but here we are.
Gentlemen my brothers;
ReplyDelete"This" will not stop until we say "no" - and mean it. I've said before, I will not leave the mess for my children and grandchildren. As put succinctly in Scripture - "choose today who you will serve". The godless, value-less, demonic creatures rioting with no restraint; are not doing the Lord's work. It is way past time for a response from the Godly. Blazing Apostle
Gray man.....is the way to be.
