When the "rule of law" makes no sense, vigilante law takes over

The Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) has just published a very good article examining why respect for the law is diminishing among Americans.

Given the events of the last few months, there can be little doubt that Americans’ respect for the rule of law is dissipating, and this is happening in no small part because inconsistencies in the law are becoming obvious.

  1. It starts when the criminals at the top are never held accountable for their crimes.
Even I, as an average law abiding citizen, when witnessing what is going on at the top, get an attitude once in a while.
Our country's most important idea that the founders stressed was equal justice under the law.
We now see what happens when that founding principle is disregarded.

    1. Where's that "like" button?

I started losing respect for the system when the Clintons skated from clear felonies. Watching the results of the Obama Administrations impact on the FBI means that, if I'm ever on a jury, I'm going to completely dismiss any FBI agents testimony and assume that the agent is corrupt (reasonable doubt goes to the person on trial, not to the "law enforcement" *cough*). Unfortunately, at this point, it is reasonable to assume that the FBI filed false documents to get their warrants. It is reasonable to assume that they planted evidence. It is reasonable to assume that they are corrupt.

  3. I believe the vigilante justice will soon be coming . And for the lgbtq crowd first . For most of us average Joes' in the flyover country we will take a lot of abuse before we pop . But fook around with our children and justice will hit like a chainsaw .

  4. These rioters think the police system of law enforcement is brutal. But they'll be begging for a return to the "normal" justice system once the floodgates open and the majority of otherwise peaceful and law-abiding citizens get collectively sick of this shit and start taking matters into their own hands. I'm curious to see how these idiots react to coordinated neighborhood defense groups or actual military ambush or QRF tactics. I know most of these "protesters" think vigilante justice is a good thing because they mistakenly believe it will just be their tool that will only go one direction.

  5. "inconsistencies in the law are becoming obvious."

No shit Dick Tracy. It's been going on since there were people rich enough or have enough social or political status to buy their way out of trouble.

Just look at Ted Kennedy and the Clintons as recent (last 50 years) examples.

  6. The protesters are making false assumptions about how average people will react when pushed to far because of the response they get in gun free zones and democratically controlled cities and states. Notice that except for a few places They are democratically controlled areas. When they push out of the Liberal enclaves i don't think they will be as pleased with the reaction they get.

  7. For justice, we must go to Don Corleone. Nature abhors a vacuum - someone will always step in.
