    Loved those old 3 holers....the 727 whisper jets were one of those rock solid, comfortable planes you were glad to see at the gate where you were about to board....

      I believe that the Whisper Jet was the Lockheed L-1011.

      My bad. I got my tri-jets confused. The l-1011 was called the TriStar. B-727 was indeed the Whisper Jet. Both were three engine jets with the middle engine mounted in the body. Like in the picture.
