North Carolina is legendary for home brewed liquor — known as moonshine — and the N.C. State Highway Patrol says it found proof the illicit industry is still going strong during a traffic stop.
A motorist pulled over for allegedly speeding in Cumberland County, about 70 miles south of Raleigh, was hauling 20 gallons of “suspected moonshine,” according to a release. Authorities say a gun was also found in the car.

Real moonshiners would have escaped. Ask me how I know. There's always exceptions, such as Cousin Will. Dumbass blew himself and his house all to hell (he survived, the house not so much). The only reason they caught him was what with the wounds to his legs and pretty much everywhere else, he couldn't drag himself into the weeds quickly enough. The judge was lenient, because cousins, etc.
ReplyDeleteOh - NE Georgia, too close to NC, not quite close enough to Tenn.
If shine don't bead or burn blue don't drink it, period. I always got mine in glass gallon jugs. I remember coming out a Bacon Holler with elderberry wine one day. It was in old Donald Duck orange juice jars. Boy that was some ass kicking wine. The more ya drank, the more ya wanted. Myself I'll take good shine over store bought hands down. It's a sippin whiskey.
ReplyDeleteForty gallons is a slow day down in Franklin County. Never was much getting a good read on bead but blue flame off a cap full never failed. Once knew a guy with the given name of Elderberry. Good telephone man with better sense than most.
