Navy SEAL talks Combat Rifle Zero

There are a lot of opinions and preferences on where a carbine should be zeroed. 25, 36, 50, 100, or something beyond that? I am discussing, demonstrating, and proving my two favorite zero's on the range. From there we will go over the ballistic data and other considerations that will help you.

  1. That's why varmint rifles such as the 22-250 or the 220 swift exist. They are really flat out to 300 yds. I agree that the .556 is effective to 700 yds. if you hit the target. But wind tends to be a BIG problem at that range. I would stick to 300 yds and below for that round.

  2. Actually, a 2 moa red dot covers 2 inches at 100 yards. It's not a measurement of accuracy, just the dot size.

  3. I prefer this video. It is why I use a 200 yard zero.
