Seattle city council overrides mayor's veto—defunds police despite public objection

The Seattle city council voted on Tuesday to override the mayor's veto of a bill to defund the Seattle Police Department, voting, again, to defund SPD. Mayor Jenny Durkan's veto was intended to stop drastic cuts to a city budget which would defund parts of the Seattle Police Department budget.

  1. Ya know when theres that stubborn teenager that thinks they know better? As a parent you can't but want to help them, teach them, let them learn from your mistakes... but then Grandpa (or some other old timer usually) puts his hand on your shoulder and says

Let the kid piss on the electric fence. It will be a good learning experience for him.

    1. I'd imagine there will be a big "re-fund the police" movement as the local gentry begin to become better acquainted with the joys of urban diversity. It's all fine and dandy when the peasants and yeomanry are taking it in the pants, but when persons of quality begin to be "inconvenienced" it quickly becomes a case of taking a good joke too far.

  4. This sounds a lot like the obozocare mandate when the AARP voted it in. The members voted against it but the ruling class of AARP “leaders” voted for it. One of the biggest reasons it passed Congress. Well, that and the corruption of obozo.
